The Lord Has Us Covered!

2Ki 6:13. And he said, Go and spy where he is, that I may send and fetch him. And it was told him, saying, Behold, he is in Dothan.

2Ki 6:14. Therefore sent he thither horses, and chariots, and a great host: and they came by night, and compassed the city about.

2Ki 6:15. And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do?

2Ki 6:16. And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.

2Ki 6:17. And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.

Saints, our God is able! He will provide protection for them who are His. The Lord is faithful in time of peace, He is faithful in the time of war, He is faithful in the time of plenty and in the time of want. Elisha knew that God was always present and had not one concern for the armies which surrounded the city, because he knew the is able to protect them that are His. Yet for tha sake of his servant, he asked the Lord to make visible the heavenly host and comfort the man’s heart. We have such an army about us! There are battles raging around us that we don’t perceive, yet the Lord has told us so. We have been given a part to play in this warfare, that is to pray and intercede! The weapons of our warfare are not natural ones, but are mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds! We have armor from head to toe, a shield of faith, and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God! So don’t fear! I pray that as the servants eyes beheld the vast army of heaven, so would your eyes of understanding be opened! For we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us and nothing can withstand us in the Lord!
